Public study and accounts
You can browse event guides and use core study tools without an account. Guest sessions are associated with a random device cookie. Accounts store your name, email, preferences, study attempts, flashcard schedules, and role-play history in Appwrite. AI access requires a verified account and confirmation of eligibility.
AI processing
AI requests go through Hack Club’s proxy to the configured model provider. Depending on the tool, the request includes the relevant question, your response, a scenario, transcript, or audio segment. We do not send your password. Hack Club, model providers, and Appwrite apply their own processing and retention policies; deleting data in MoStudy does not establish deletion from every provider’s infrastructure.
Recordings
Voice practice processes audio segments for transcription. Unsaved recordings are not written to the application’s recording bucket. Transcripts and feedback are saved with your session. A full recording stays in browser memory until you explicitly save it or leave the page. Saved recordings are private to your account. Platform execution metadata is governed by Appwrite; application logging is disabled for speech functions.
Eligibility
Hack Club’s AI service is for users eighteen and under. MoStudy offers account-based AI practice for eligible users aged thirteen through eighteen. Other visitors can use non-AI study resources. We record an eligibility confirmation rather than asking for a complete birth date.
Local storage and offline packs
Your browser may store theme preferences, pending answer snapshots, and study packs you explicitly download. Offline packs contain public practice questions and explanations. Signing out clears account-specific pending answer snapshots; downloaded public packs can remain available on the device.
Your choices
Use your account settings to export data or delete your account and associated application records and saved recordings. On a shared device, sign out and remove any downloaded files you do not want other people to access.
